KidSport is a national children's program that helps kids overcome the financial barriers preventing or limiting their participation in organized sport.
Managed and operated in Nova Scotia by Sport Nova Scotia since 1994, KidSport Nova Scotia has assisted over 30,000 children totalling over $7.4 Million. KidSport Nova Scotia provides funding of up to $300/year/child for sport registration and/or equipment.
In 2019 KidSport Nova Scotia allocated over $675,000 to more than 2,400 children from Sydney to Yarmouth.
The Need for KidSport™
One-third of Canadian parents with children under the age of 18 have been unable to register their children in organized sports due to expenses
32% of children in Nova Scotia between two and 17 years of age are either overweight or obese. The national average is 26%.
With more than 37,000 children living in poverty, many Nova Scotia kids won't get to experience the positive benefits of sport. With your help we can provide another child with the opportunity to play.
