The provincial sport system in British Columbia is losing one of it’s most valuable players as long time BC Games CEO Kelly Mann leaves after 26 years with the organization; 19 of those years as the CEO. Kelly has been influential in so many aspects of the sport sector; ranging from moving the games to an athlete development model to developing legacy opportunities for host communities. His ability to leverage relationships in communities throughout the province has left a strong network of volunteers and leaders in every corner of British Columbia.
The BC Games legacy menu of opportunities always positioned KidSport as a tremendous option for host communities to consider and our community chapters in Mission, Port Alberni, Victoria and Nanaimo benefited from Kelly’s belief in the importance of KidSport in the fabric of a community. Indeed, Kelly was one of the founders of our Victoria chapter in 2000 and remains a supporter to this day.
While he may be leaving the Games, we hope that Kelly will continue to be part of the KidSport family and we wish him well in this next chapter!
