Rob Rongve saw a need for KidSport funding in North Battleford and decided to help. Together, with Dave Schell (his KidSport North Battleford’s Co-Chair) and the support of this employer, RBC Dominion Securities, Rob set out to establish KidSport Battleford. And since this initial effort, KidSport Battleford has raised approximately $5,000 in funding annually, totalling over $80,000!

One of the most effective ways Rob and his committee are raising those funds is through an annual lobster fundraiser. This event has been such a success, that the Lloydminster KidSport chapter is now taking orders as well and running their own version of the event. “We take orders in April, and deliver in June,” Rob says. “We take care of all the logistics in planning and publicity, and we fly in fresh PEI lobster and raise a ton of money in a single event.”

Rob believes that volunteering for KidSport is a perfect fit–not only did he grow up being involved in sport, but he continues that involvement today, in particular with his recent role as co-Chair of the Saskatchewan Winter Games in North Battleford with his KidSport Co-Chair, David Schell.
