KidSport Canada operates to promote and strengthen the KidSport brand and related fundraising initiatives across Canada. Key to success is the continued development of the national office as a high-profile, influential hub that is a focal point for attracting and servicing multi-year partnerships with government, business and donors in support of the fundraising efforts of our local/provincial committees from coast to coast.The KidSport Canada strategy is to support and empower the licensed committees so that they are able to raise funds to support more grants.KidSport Canada currently has licensed Provincial Committees operating in: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Newfoundland & Labrador, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Northwest Territories.
Sask Sport Inc.
In Saskatchewan, Sask Sport Inc. is licensed by KidSport Canada to deliver the program. Sask Sport does this through their charitable arm, Give Kids a Chance Charity Inc. (GKACCI). The charitable number for the program is: # 804 11 8677 RR0001.
Give Kids a Chance Charity Inc.
Incorporated in 2006, the mission and vision of GKACCI is to relieve poverty amongst disadvantaged children and youth in remote and inner city communities in Saskatchewan by providing food and other basic supplies and service through nutrition education programs and active lifestyle programs as well as by providing nutritious meals. The corporation in partnership with Sask Sport Inc. and Saskatchewan Lotteries Trust Fund works with community based organizations to facilitate program delivery.
Provincial KidSport Committee
In Saskatchewan, the Provincial KidSport Committee consists of volunteers that provide recommendations and advice to the GKACCI Board of Directors specific to Saskatchewan. The committee ensures that all policies comply with the licensing requirements of KidSport Canada.
