    Leanna has played a variety of competitive sports growing up including ice hockey, field lacrosse, box lacrosse, volleyball, and soccer. She has represented Team Ontario for women’s field lacrosse and won a gold medal with the Oshawa Lady Blue Knights at Ontario Summer Games in 2004. 

    Leanna has had the opportunity to volunteer and coach a variety of sports since she was 15 years old. She enjoys teaching and seeing others learn, grow and improve at all different skill levels.

    Leanna is employed by the Toronto Police Service and is currently assigned to the Street Crime Unit as a School Engagement Officer, working in schools in the Toronto area. She has partnered with KidSport and local schools to create, promote and facilitate students in underprivileged areas, the chance to learn and play new sports. She believes everyone should have the opportunity to play and try something new. Leanna continues to advocate that sport builds positive character traits and creates long-lasting bonds and friendships.

    During Leanna’s time working as a school liaison officer, Leanna has been awarded Spirit Officer of the Year with the Kids, Cops and Computers program and the Police Chief of Excellence Award for her activity based Police Academy themed event “May the Police Fourth Be With You” involving students all over Scarborough. 

    In her spare time, Leanna enjoys working around her country property and has a hobby of making her own backyard maple syrup. She loves to travel and is not afraid to try new things. She enjoys relaxing movie nights with her family and going to see the symphony orchestra.
