October is KidSport Month at Jugo Juice!
CALGARY, ALBERTA– [September 30, 2019] – Jugo Juice locations across the country will be celebrating KidSport Month this October. From October 1-21, 2019, all Jugo Juice franchises will be accepting $1 donations at the till for their local KidSport chapter. The three-week fundraising drive will culminate in “Jugo Day” in support of KidSport - Tuesday, October 22, when $1 from all smoothies sold will be donated to KidSport.
KidSport and Jugo Juice share common values, including being part of a healthy, active living community. “Jugo Juice’s partnership with KidSport will give kids across the country the opportunity to experience the lifelong benefits of sport,” said Greg Ingalls, Executive Director at KidSport Alberta. “Their commitment to promote healthy, active lifestyles in the communities where they work is evident, and we are excited to work with a partner whose values so closely align with our own.”
“When we searched for a partner, we looked for three main things - similar values, a demonstrated commitment to encouraging healthy active living, and an ability to truly make an impact in the communities we live and work in,” said Jamie Vadori, Director of Marketing at Jugo Juice. “KidSport meets all three criteria and our Franchise Partners are excited to help their communities develop strong, healthy kids for years to come.”
KidSport is a national not-for-profit that helps remove the financial barriers that prevent kids from playing organized sport. Through a confidential application process, KidSport provides grants to children aged 18 years & under, enabling them to play a season of sport. Since its creation in 1993, KidSport has given over 825,000 kids across the country the chance to play sport.
KidSport is implemented through 166 community and 11 provincial and territorial chapters. Many chapters are volunteer-run, and this grassroots, community-led structure is the program’s greatest strength. All dollars donated in a community stay local, to help local kids experience the lifelong benefits of a season of sport.
By removing financial barriers and increasing access to sport programs, KidSport contributes to developing healthier, more active, and well-rounded children. Sports skills are life skills, and the opportunity to play a season of sport will help children today, while also providing them with life lessons for tomorrow.
