Show Thanks and Give Back!
Team Nova Scotia wants to help you say thanks while giving kids a chance to participate in organized sport through KidSport.
If you’ve been involved in sports, you probably have that special someone who made a difference in your life. This could be a coach, an umpire, or a Zamboni driver who might have given you what you needed to succeed – now is your chance to give back!
Post a message with your heartfelt thanks and use the hashtag #TeamNSGiveBack, and Team Nova Scotia will make a donation of $5 to KidSport on your behalf.
Your post could include a photo of your mom in the stands, a video of someone sharpening skates at your rink, a scanned image of your favourite childhood coach, or simply a few words of gratitude. Use your imagination and show us how much you care.
A Team Nova Scotia athlete will announce our favourite entry on social media from the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer in February. We will make a further $1,000 donation on behalf of the person who submitted that entry.
All funds raised for KidSport will be shared equally with chapters across the province as a way to give back to sport across Nova Scotia.
Please note:
- A maximum of $7,000 will be donated to KidSport – up to $6,000 from individual posts and $1,000 on behalf of the selected entry.
- Posts can be made on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.
- Kids should ask their parents’ or guardians’ permission to participate.
- If you have a private account, please be sure to tag Team Nova Scotia in your post so we can see it and count your entry
