After calling all Canadians from coast to coast to support our 2015 Give the Gift of Sport campaign (read full news release here), KidSport is thrilled to report that over $85,000 was raised, nealry tripling the orginal fundriasing goal of $30,000! These important funds will provide more deserving Canadian youth with the opporunity to get into the game and experience the positive benefits of organized sport this coming year.

Thank you.

Thank you to everyone who donated, followed us on Facebook and Twitter and shared our messages to spread the word. Every dollar counts towards reducing the statistic of the 1 in 3 kids who cannot play sports due to financial barriers.

We are grateful for every dollar you donated, and we do also want to cheer on some of our fundraising leaders for their efforts:

Top 3 Fundraisers – Organization

Hockey Canada

Peter Gilligan Fund

Shuswap Ski and Board

Top 3 Fundraisers – Individual Donations

Bill Quinn – Toronto

Julie Morstad – Calgary

Jeffrey Jogmans – Calgary

If you were following us in December, you would have seen our debut at writing Christmas lyrics with 12 Days of KidSport. Thank you to our video all-stars, including sport and community ambassadors from all over Canada, sending us their videos singing along to help inspire even more Canadians to Give the Gift of Sport.

In case you missed the all star line-up, we're happy to sing their praises here once again: beginning with NHL'er Brett Stutter on Day 1, Olympian Michael Gilday for Day 2, KidSport Champion from Saskatchewan Taerjan Asmundson on Day 3, Olympian Kelsey Serwa for Day 4, Paralympian Michelle Stillwell on Day 5, Olympian Karina Leblanc for Day 6, Olympian Simon Whitfield for Day 7, The Bundheads Dance Group for Day 8, Olympian Mercedes Nicoll on Day 9, Team Next Athlete Danielle Kisser on Day 10, Olympian Desiree Scott for Day 11, and wrapping up with the Hon. Carla Qualtrough for Day 12.

So much fun!

Now we are excited to come out of the 2016 gates with such a strong start, and look forward to getting more kids in the game this year…  So ALL Kids Can Play!

From everyone at KidSport, Thank You!
