KidSport Winnipeg and Mark Scheifele, Winnipeg Jets forward and KidSport Winnipeg Athlete Ambassador, are pleased to announce the 2017 Mark Scheifele Golf Classic will take place Monday, June 26 at Niakwa Country Club.

“Last year we enjoyed a fantastic day at Niakwa and I'm looking forward to being on course with all the golfers again," said Scheifele. “It’s truly rewarding to know that in the past 2 years, the funds raised at the tournament and hockey camp have enabled KidSport Winnipeg to help over 700 families! This is a community that cares deeply about opening doors for kids and removing the obstacles that are keeping them on the sidelines, and I’m grateful for the tremendous support of 24-7 Intouch and all the generous sponsors and participants who are partners in helping us meet the needs of families.”

The golf classic is in support of KidSport Winnipeg and all proceeds will go towards paying the registration fees for kids from financially disadvantaged families so they can participate in sports.

"We are thrilled once again to sponsor KidSport and the Mark Scheifele golf tournament,” said Carmyn Aleshka, Director of Philanthropy at 24-7 Intouch. “It’s a fun day on the course with Mark and his teammates! But more important is the awareness and support raised for a great cause. We feel passionate about our community and love to support initiatives like this that directly impact young children. Sport has such a positive impact on these young lives and builds a foundation of success to last their lifetime. We are so proud to partner with Mark and KidSport Winnipeg!"

In the past two years Mark Scheifele’s golf tournament and hockey camp has raised over $215,000 for KidSport Winnipeg.
