KidSport Winnipeg runs four major annual events,in different sports with our Athlete Ambassadors.
Doug Brown KidSport Winnipeg Football Camp
For the past 9 years KidSport Winnipeg, with the help of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, has held an annual football camp for kids. In its inaugural year, the camp was led by Gavin Walls and in subsequent years by Doug Brown. This half-day camp is free for boys and girls aged 5 - 18 who have been funded by KidSport to play football in Manitoba. The majority of the attendees are younger children and it is a ‘feel good’ event meant to encourage the kids in their pursuit of football and give them a chance to spend some time having fun and learning from their mentors. Aside from Doug, the coaches of the camp are former & current CFL players who put the kids through a football combine and a series of skills and drills.

Mark Scheifele Hockey Camp presented by FXR
This hockey camp is in support of KidSport Winnipeg. We believe that no kid should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sports. By supporting this camp you can help us ensure that All Kids Can Play! This two-day camp is aimed at helping the next generation of hockey players grow their skills and elevate their game. Kids will have the opportunity to personally interact with Mark and they will receive specialized instruction from the most professional hockey skill development team in Winnipeg. The 2018 camp will be its fourth year.
Mark Scheifele Golf Classic presented by Porsche Winnipeg
Our fourth Mark Scheifele golf tournament was a tremendously successful event - in large part due to the generous support of our sponsors! The tournament includes lunch, an 18-hole round of golf (power carts included), and a banquet dinner for all participants and sponsors. There will be an opportunity to meet with our special guest, Mark Scheifele and a few of his well-known friends.
Desiree Scott Soccer Camp presented by Sexton Group
Desiree Scott, 2012 Olympic Bronze Medalist, Pro Soccer Player and member of the Canadian Women’s National Team - was also a KidSport kid. She has often stated that KidSport kept her on the pitch and without it - she would have missed out on playing and many of life’s experiences. It’s her desire to give back and assist other girls and families in similar situations so they too can experience all that sport has to offer and the simple joy in participating.
