About Us

  • The History of Kidsport™  

    KidSport was established in 1993 because of an identified need by leaders in the sport community. They witnessed too many children on the sidelines because of financial barriers.  Since that time, KidSport is going strong throughout Canada with over 170 local community volunteer chapters in 11 provinces and territories.                                                       

  • KidSport™ Across Ontario

    In 2000, the program was introduced to Ontario by the Sport Alliance of Ontario, a leading sport management organization representing the province' s sport sector.  KidSport™ Ontario is now thriving with over 25 local community chapters servicing thousands of kids in the province annually.

  • Our Adovacy Work

    KidSport™ knows the importance of sport participation and regularly speaks about it. KidSport™ continues to keep the issue of sport on the agenda of Provincial and Federal government representatives and ensures it remains in the public eye through regular media events and opportunities. KidSport™ advocates on behalf of those who are less likely to participate in sport due to financial barriers to ensure there is continued access to sport for all.
