On February 27th, 2010, Gavin Walls, former defensive end for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and KidSport Champion Spokesperson hosted the Gavin Walls Football Camp in Support of KidSport-Winnipeg. This camp was designated for kids that received funding assistance from KidSport-Winnipeg to play football in the 2009 season.
A total of 75 kids came out for a day of skills development that could be used not only on the field, but off the field as well such as leadership, hard work, dedication and self-confidence. Walls, along with a number of current and former teammates including Luke Fritz, Ibrahim Khan, Fred Perry and Lamar McGriggs, dedicated their day to help create a camp the kids will always remember.

Gavin Walls
Gavin Walls signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2005 and became an instant star. In his first season, Walls led the team in quarterback sacks with 12 on his way to being named the CFL's Rookie of the Year and a West Division All-Star. In 2006, Walls built off his rookie campaign by being named an East Division All-Star after registering 11 sacks - good enough for fourth best in the league.
The following year, Walls was the heart and soul of his team's defensive line helping the Bombers reach the Grey Cup game after finishing the year second on the team in sacks with nine. In 2008, Walls was again recognized by the league for his stellar season as he was named a Divisional All-Star for the third time. Last year, Walls' season was cut short due to injury but he still managed to record five sacks in 13 games. Through five season with the Blue and Gold, Walls sits third on the all-time quarterback sack list with 47.
Walls has been a leader both on and off the field and is looking forward to hosting the football camp.
