KidSport™ Canada would like to thank its generous Founding Partners for their ongoing support.

Human Resources and Social Development Canada has partnered with KidSport™ Canada in a 3 year grant through the Social Development Partnerships Program (SDPP) with a mission of building a stronger and more competitive Canada, supporting Canadians in making choices that help them to live productive and rewarding lives, and improving Canadians’ quality of life. This funding will help build the capacity within KidSport™ Canada to develop a bilingual website, to support initiatives to address needs of groups facing financial and communications challenges related to sport participation, and to become a sustainable organization with the ability to secure additional future financial support through corporate, foundation and donor sources. The funding will also provide opportunities for children and families from diverse backgrounds to be further involved through sport with their local communities, opportunities that may previously not existed due to financial and cultural barriers.

KidSport™ Canada has created an innovative partnership with the McConnell Foundation to provide sport participation opportunities to families who regularly depend on the services of community Food Banks. Financial barriers often restrict families from enrolling their kids into sport programs. At times it is a matter of food versus organized sport participation. The McConnell Foundation, KidSport™ Canada and the Food Bank will be working together to change this. By linking community Food Banks with local KidSport™ Chapters, kids will be provided with both vital nutritional services as well as important physical activity opportunities. Together we will work to create healthy and fit communities.

KidSport™ Canada and WestJet have formed a partnership that compliments KidSport™'s mission and vision of making sure all kids can play. Through thier innovative "WestJet Care's for Kids" program, WestJet has helped to remove transportation barriers thereby enabling children who are involved in organized sport activities to fly to towns and cities across Canada to attend tournaments and sport camps. WestJet's "Gift of Flight" means that children who may not have been able to travel with thier teammates are now able to be 'part of the team'. The "Gift of Flight" is extended to guardians of the children, and to support national leadership and fundraising initiatives aiding in the organizational development of KidSport™ Canada.
