Perry Solkowski is a multi-award-winning sports broadcaster, spending 18 years at the anchor desk at CTV Vancouver. Perry spent years traveling as host of the Vancouver Canucks telecast, and still works sidelines for TSN for the Vancouver Whitecaps and Major league soccer broadcast. However, it's his focus on amateur sports that has set him apart in his industry.
As the creator of “Perry's Prospect”, his unique look at kids involved in sports. The heartwarming stories focused on kids giving it their all, making friends and learning invaluable life skills alongside their sports skills. Perry has watched some of his prospects turn into Olympians, whom he covered as part of his network duties in Vancouver 2010 and London 2012.
Perry has hosted over 300 underprivileged kids at two separate super-camps, using his connections in the pro community to give kids a day to remember at BC Place and the Richmond Olympic Oval. He won international journalism awards for, among others, stories on a blind little league player and a team of refugee soccer players. A Kidsport Ambassador for the past 17 years, his work in the community, for which he was awarded the Paul Carson Award for Philanthrapy in 2015, is matched only by his sense of humour which has been the biggest element of his 25-year career.
