    Mercedes Nicoll is the most decorated rider of the Canadian women’s halfpipe team, Nicoll has represented Canada at three Winter Olympic Games; Turin 2006, Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014. In front of a home crowd in 2010 Nicoll rose to the occasion finishing in sixth place – Canada’s best result in halfpipe for both genders in 2010. Her image was featured on the BC Ferries Coastal Inspiration ferry during the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games! Later that year, Nicoll went on to podium at two consecutive World Cup events, and placing 4th at the European X-Games and wrapping up the season ranked fourth in the world. Mercedes is a 6 x Winter X Games athlete and4x National Champion.

    She competed as a figure skater until age 13 and had the same coach as Patrick Chan. A family move back to Whistler helped to bring Mercedes back to a focus on snowboard and at 16 was competing at junior nationals and junior worlds. 

    She is passionate about giving back to her community and does volunteer work with the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation, Whistler Search and Rescue and, of course, KidSport BC! Mercedes is an accomplished artist and some examples of her work can be found on her facebook page.
