A Fort St. John native, Denny won a gold medal at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Winter Games in team pursuit. As a 12 year member of the national team, Denny also competed in the 2006 Torino Games and 2014 Sochi Games, tallying up 4 Olympic medals over his career. Denny’s shared story with Gilmore Junio during 2014 is a shining example of teamwork and selflessness by Junio, when he gave up his Olympic spot in the 1000m competition to Denny, which lead to an Olympic Silver medal win for Canada!

Denny has always been a big believer in the values that sport brings to a child and helps them develop strong, smart habits that will last for lifetime. Denny relies on his adapted skill of persevering through adversity to achieve greatness inside of sport and out. In 2015 he was in a motorcycle crash which caused many injuries, culminating in a stroke in 2016. These are Denny’s biggest challenges yet. Overcoming them to compete in the 2018 Korea Games will be the greatest comeback story of Canadian Sport! Follow Denny’s story on Twitter @Denny_Morrison
