    Darcy is a three-time Olympian in rowing​ who, after two fourth place finishes at Athens 2004 (​women's pair) and Beijing 2008 (women's eight), finally reached the podium as a member of the women’s eight that won silver at London 2012. In 2006 Marquardt won world championship gold in the pairs event​ with stroke Jane Rumball. She won back-to-back world championship silvers with the women’s eights​ in 2010 and 2011 heading towards London 2012 and also has two more world championship medals from 2002 (silver in four​s​) and 2003 (bronze in eights​).​

    Darcy met her husband Richard (2x Olympic swimmer) in Beijing in ​2008 and they are now a family of five (son, Kirin born in January 2015 and son/daughter twins, Jax and Rosie, born in February 2017.  She is a past board member of the Rowing BC Board of Directors and a much sought after public speaker.
