For the sixth straight year, the Bryan James Memorial Golf Tournament was held in support of KidSport Surrey / White Rock and once again it was an overwhelming success, generating $12,000 for the local KidSport chapter.

Bryan James coached football in the community for several years prior to his untimely passing and was instrumental in starting the football program at Earl Marriott Secondary School. Bryan had a passion for sport and wanted every kid to experience the same love of sport that lived within him. To that end, the Bryan James Memorial Foundation was established by Bryan’s family to help ensure that all children were given the opportunity to play.

Tournament organizers Diane and Jordan James were thrilled with the response to the tournament this year and the generousity of sponsors like National Bank Financial and Special Risk Insurance Managers as well as the folks at Meridian Golf.

“Bryan was not one to leave anyone out, “the more the merrier”, he used to say. That is why we love KidSport’s mission to leave no kid on the sidelines. I couldn’t think of a better way to honor his memory, than to support this great cause in his name”, said co organizer Jordan James.

This year’s fundraising efforts bring the totals generated by the Bryan James Memorial Foundation for KidSport Surrey/White Rock to over $85,000 since it’s inception in 2012.

“On behalf of KidSport, I would like to thank Jordan and the James family for their incredible long term support of KidSport Surrey White Rock. It is truly heart warming to see this kind of support from the community and to ensure that Bryan’s legacy continues to positively affect children”, said KidSport BC Director Pete Quevillon.
