So ALL Kids Can Play continues to be the theme of the seventh annual Mayor’s Cup hockey game.  Fundraising for the Comox Valley chapter of KidSport is the focus for this year’s event to ensure that no kid is left on the sidelines due to financial barriers. The puck will drop at 7 p.m. on Sat, March 11 at the Comox Valley Sports Centre Arena

They will be joined on ice by event organizer, Dr. Paul Helpard. Helpard is a local champion of children’s charities, dedicating much of his personal and professional time to helping children. It was his vision of assisting children that led to the creation of the Mayors Cup in 2011. The idea has taken off and has become an annual event that has raised funds for CV KidSport and BC Children’s Hospital Cleft Palate program where Helpard works each month. All funds this year will stay in the Valley to help the local chapter of KidSport.
